Leger Fernández Secures Nearly $20 Million for District Transportation & Infrastructure Projects in INVEST in America Act
WASHINGTON - Today, Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández secured funding for seven of the Member Designated Projects she submitted to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure for inclusion in the INVEST in America Act.
Projects in Santa Fe, Farmington, Portales, Taos Pueblo, Santa Clara Pueblo, and Gallup were selected from thousands of submissions sent to the Committee Today, Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández secured funding for seven of the Member Designated Projects she submitted to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure for inclusion in the INVEST in America Act. The INVEST in America Act is a transformative five-year, $547 billion surface transportation reauthorization bill that would help modernize our roads, bridges, transit, and more. The legislation includes nearly $20 million in federal resources for projects in Santa Fe, San Juan, Roosevelt, Taos, Rio Arriba, and McKinley Counties. “Part of my job in Congress is to ensure that my district has the resources needed to rebuild and thrive. I’m proud to have secured funding for transportation and infrastructure projects from Farmington to Portales in the INVEST in America Act,” said Leger Fernández. “The projects that were chosen will help our kids get to schools on safe roads, promote tourism in our state, and help residents access services like health care. I look forward to voting for this bill to ensure that federal dollars flow directly into our communities.
