Today, the House of Representatives passed the budget resolution, the first step to move forward with the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the Build Back Better Plan. Congresswoman Leger Fernández released the following statement in response to the vote: “Back in March, Congressional Democrats delivered on the promise we made to the American people to take bold action to tackle the pandemic. The American Rescue Plan is working; it has reduced child hunger, gotten people to work, and put money directly into pockets. Now we must continue to meet the moment and build on this progress. “Our budget reflects our nation’s values. We value our families, our workers, and the future of our planet. Alongside the bipartisan infrastructure bill, I know that these investments will bring economic security and a sense of hope to the American people. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ultimately pass transformational legislation which will uplift workers and families, invest in our children, and address climate change. We are addressing the fundamental inequalities in American life. The American people deserve nothing less.” Brief Overview: Build Back Better Plan
