Today, Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández issued the following statement after voting to pass the House budget resolution: “The health care and economic crisis put everything we love in harm's way. It destroyed families, caused countless New Mexicans to fall into poverty, and ravaged our local economies. This budget resolution paves the way for Congress to urgently pass the American Rescue Plan. It brings us one step closer to fulfilling our promise to the American people. “We know that if we fail to act, millions of Americans, especially people of color, Tribal communities, and women, will suffer the consequences. Americans are relying on Congress to join with the Biden Administration to rescue the economy and save countless lives. New Mexicans want us to act, and we are listening.” |
