What the Job Involves
Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández is seeking a veteran, Gold Star
Family member, or Active-Duty spouse for a position in her Clovis,
Santa Fe, or Washington, DC office. The person chosen will work with
military and veteran constituents, handle veterans-related casework,
and serve as a facilitator between constituents and federal, state,
and local agencies.
The Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program was established by the
House of Representatives to provide employment opportunities for
veterans, Gold Star Families, and Active-Duty spouses within member
offices.
Eligibility
Who Can Apply
Veterans
- Honorably discharged
-
Released from active duty within the last six years
-
Terminal pay grade at or below E-5, O-3, or W-2
-
E-6, O-4, or W-3 promotions within six months of separation
remain eligible if all other requirements are met
-
Not eligible if receiving a 20-year or TERA retirement
Gold Star Families
-
Spouse, parent, sibling, child, or stepchild of a service member
who died in the line of duty

Or whose death resulted from a service-connected disability
within four years of separation from service
Active-Duty Spouses

Must be the spouse of an Active-Duty service member
-
Active-Duty service members work for the military full-time and
are subject to permanent change of station or permanent change
of assignment orders upon completion of each tour of duty

Spouses of service members subject to Title 10 mobilization are
not eligible
