Today, Congresswoman Leger Fernández voted for the Women’s Health Protection Act to protect the right to access abortion care throughout the United States, no matter what state they live in. “New Mexico is a border state with Texas. Because of the draconian Texas abortion ban, Texas women are driving hours to receive reproductive health care in New Mexico,” said Leger Fernández on the House floor. “We are receiving women’s rights refugees- our Texas sisters - we’re receiving them with open arms, open hearts, and open clinics. New Mexico knows that a woman’s freedom to make difficult health decisions belongs to her alone.” WATCH: Rep. Leger Fernández floor speeches on the Women’s Health Protection Act HERE.
